Control of the Senate may now rest with the adjacent state of Nevada after Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) was proclaimed the winner of the election for the Senate

In this razor-thin race, ballots are still being counted there as of Saturday.

Democratic incumbent Catherine Cortez Masto and Republican challenger Adam Laxalt were separated by less than 900 votes as of Saturday morning.

Tens of thousands of ballots still need to be counted, according to an estimate made by The Nevada Independent on Saturday

This includes approximately 23,000 ballots from Clark County, the state's largest and most reliably blue county,

Provisional votes in Clark County as well as a few thousand uncounted ballots remain in remote areas.

Nevada's election might be declared as early as this Saturday.

If it were to occur, it would be similar to the 2020 presidential election

Joe Gloria, the Clark County's chief elections officer, predicted last week that the majority of mail-in ballots will be counted by the end of Saturday.
